I am a Clinical Psychological and trauma expert from San Diego, CA with more than 20 years of experience leading teams and organizations through change. As the leader of one of the largest children’s advocacy centers and child trauma treatment centers in the nation throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I realized how our collective trauma has impacted how we engage in, relate, and show up in our work and our personal lives.
As our society grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic and the racial reckoning over the past couple of years, I realized that we are all experiencing a collective trauma that impacts how we see, relate, and connect with the world. A trauma-informed approach helps us understand how our own life experiences shape us, and how they influence how we work with others. You cannot meaningfully engage with your colleagues, your leaders, and your staff members if you are always reactive and responding. I founded Trauma-Informed Innovations Group as a way to provide training, consultation, and share information on the newest research on trauma and organizational culture.
